【摘要】:Measurementsoffrictionalpropertiesmaybemadeonafilmorsheetingspecimenwhenslidingoveritselforoveranothersubstance.Thecoefficientsoffrictionarerelatedtotheslippropertiesofplasticfilmsthatareofwideinterestinpackagingapplications.Thesemethodsyieldempiricaldataforcontrolpurposesinfilmproduction.Correlationoftestresultswithactualperformancecanusuallybeestablished.Thistestmethodincludestestingattemperaturesotherthan23x00B0;Cbyheatingonlytheplanewhilethesledisatambienttemperature.Slippropertiesaregeneratedbyadditivesinsomeplasticfilms,forexample,polyethylene.Theseadditiveshavevaryingdegreesofcompatibilitywiththefilmmatrix.Someofthembloom,orexudetothesurface,lubricatingitandmakingitmoreslippery.Becausethisbloomingactionmaynotalwaysbeuniformonallareasofthefilmsurface,valuesfromthesetestsmaybelimitedinreproducibility.Thefrictionalpropertiesofplasticfilmandsheetingmaybedependentontheuniformityoftherateofmotionbetweenthetwosurfaces.Careshouldbeexercisedtoensurethattherateofmotionoftheequipmentisascarefullycontrolledaspossible.Dataobtainedbytheseproceduresmaybeextremelysensitivetotheageofthefilmorsheetandtheconditionofthesurfaces.Thebloomingactionofmanyslipadditivesistime-dependent.Forthisreason,itissometimesmeaninglesstocompareslipandfrictionpropertiesoffilmsorsheetsproducedatdifferenttimes,unlessitisdesiredtostudythiseffect.Frictionalandslippropertiesofplasticfilmandsheetingarebasedonmeasurementsofsurfacephenomena.Whereproductshavebeenmadebydifferentprocesses,orevenondifferentmachinesbythesameprocess,theirsurfacesmaybedependentontheequipmentoritsrunningconditions.Suchfactorsmustbeweighedinevaluatingdatafromthesemethods.Themeasurementofthestaticcoefficientoffrictionishighlydependentontherateofloadingandontheamountofblockingoccurringbetweentheloadedsledandtheplatformduetovariationintimebeforemotionisinitiated.Careshouldbeexercisedtomakecertainthatthespeedofresponseoftherecorder,eitherelectronicormechanical,isnotexceeded.Formanymaterials,theremaybeaspecificationthatrequirestheuseofthistestmethod,butwithsomeproceduralmodificationsthattakeprecedencewhenadheringtothespecification.Therefore,itisadvisabletorefertothatmaterialspecificationbeforeusingthistestmethod.Table1ofClassificationSystemD4000liststheASTMmaterialsstandardsthatcurrentlyexist.1.1Thistestmethodcoversdeterminationofthecoefficientsofstartingandslidingfrictionofplasticfilmandsheetingwhenslidingoveritselforothersubstancesatspecifiedtestconditions.Theprocedurepermitstheuseofastationarysledwithamovingplane,oramovingsledwithastationaryplane.Bothproceduresyieldthesamecoefficientsoffrictionvaluesforagivensample.Note18212;Forthefrictionalcharacteristicsofplasticfilmspartiallywrappedaroundacylinder,orcapstan,seeTestMethodG143underthejurisdictionofASTMSubcommitteeG02.50.1.2Testdataobtainedbythistestmethodisrelevantandappropriateforuseinengineeringdesign.1.2.1Asanoptiontothistest,coefficientoffrictionmayberunattemperaturesotherthan23x00B0;Cbyheatingonlytheplanewhilethesledisatambienttemperature.1.3ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.Thevaluesgiveninparenthesesareforinformationonly.
