【摘要】:Decommissioningofboreholesandmonitoringwells,andotherdevicesrequiresthatthespecificcharacteristicsofeachsitebeconsidered.Thewidevarietyofgeological,biological,andphysicalconditions,constructionpractices,andchemicalcompositionofthesurroundingsoil,rock,waste,andgroundwaterprecludestheuseofasingledecommissioningpractice.Theproceduresdiscussedinthisguideareintendedtoaidthegeologistorengineerinselectingthetasksrequiredtoplan,choosematerialsfor,andcarryoutaneffectivepermanentdecommissioningoperation.Eachindividualsituationshouldbeevaluatedseparatelyandtheappropriatetechnologyappliedtobestmeetsiteconditions.Considerationsforselectionofappropriateproceduresarepresentedinthisguide,butotherconsiderationsbasedonsitespecificconditionsshouldalsobetakenintoaccount.Note68212;Ideally,decommissioningshouldbeconsideredasanintegralpartofthedesignofthemonitoringwell.Planningatthisearlystagecanmakethedecommissioningactivityeasiertoaccomplish.SeePracticeD5092fordetailsonmonitoringwellconstruction.Thisguideisintendedtoprovidetechnicalinformationandisnotintendedtosupplantstatutesorregulations.Approvaloftheappropriateregulatoryauthoritiesshouldbeanimportantconsiderationduringthedecommissioningprocess.1.1Thisguidecoversproceduresthatarespecificallyrelatedtopermanentdecommissioning(closure)ofthefollowingasappliedtoenvironmentalactivities.Itisintendedforusewheresolidorhazardousmaterialsorwastesarefound,orwhereconditionsoccurrequiringtheneedfordecommissioning.Thefollowingdevicesareconsideredinthisguide:1.1.1Aboreholeusedforgeoenvironmentalpurposes(see),1.1.2Monitoringwells,1.1.3Observationwells,1.1.4Injectionwells(seeNote0),1.1.5Piezometers,1.1.6Wellsusedfortheextractionofcontaminatedgroundwater,theremovaloffloatingorsubmergedmaterialsotherthanwatersuchasgasolineortetrachloroethylene,orotherdevicesusedfortheextractionofsoilgas,1.1.7Aboreholeusedtoconstructamonitoringwell,and1.1.8Anyothervadosezonemonitoringdevice.1.2Temporarydecommissioningoftheaboveisnotcoveredinthisguide.Note2Thisguidemaybeusedtodecommissionboreholeswherenocontaminationisobservedatasite(seePracticeD420fordetails);however,theprimaryuseoftheguideistodecommissionboreholesandwellswheresolidorhazardouswastehavebeenidentified.Methodsidentifiedinthisguidecanalsobeusedinothersituationssuchasthedecommissioningofwatersupplywellsandboreholeswherewatercontaminatedwithnonhazardouspollutants(suchasnitratesorsulfates)arepresent.Thisguideshouldbeconsultedintheeventthataroutinegeotechnicalinvestigationindicatesthepresenceofcontaminationatasite.Note0Theterm"well"isusedinthisguidetodenotemonitoringwells,piezometers,orotherdevicesconstructedinamannersimilartoawell.Someofthedeviceslistedsuchasinjectionandextractionwellscanbedecommissionedusingthisguideforinformation,butarenotspecificallycoveredinthetext.Note3Detailsonthedecommissioningofmultiple-screenedwellsarenotprovidedinthisguideduetothemanymethodsusedtoconstructthesetypesofwellsandthenumeroustypesofcommerciallyavailablemultiple-screenedwellsystems.However,insomeinstances,themethodspresentedinthisguidemaybeusedwithfewchanges.Anexampleofhowthisguidemaybeusedisthecompleteremovalofthemultiple-screenedwellsbyoverdrilling.1.3Mostmonitoringwellsandpiezometersareintendedprimarilyforwaterqualitysampling,w......
