【摘要】:1.1Thisstandardappliestotransformersandpowersupplies,includingthoseintendedtobeconnectedtoaClass2sourceofsupply,thatprovidethevoltageandballastingforneonandcold-cathodetubing(electric-dischargetubing)consistingofelectrodesandgassuchasneon,mercury,helium,argon,andsimilargases,enclosedinglass.NeontransformersandpowersuppliesforuseinsignsandoutlinelightingareintendedtobeusedinaccordancewithArticle600oftheNationalElectricalCode,NFPA70.Cold-cathodesuppliesidentifiedforuseonlyincold-cathodelightingsystemsareintendedtobeusedinaccordancewithArticle410oftheNationalElectricalCode.1.2NeontransformersandpowersuppliescoveredbythisstandardaredesignatedbytheirconstructionandintendeduseasspecifiedinTable1.1.1.2.1ThefollowingneonsuppliesareonlycoveredascomponentsforuseinanendproductthatisdeterminedtocomplywiththeStandardforElectricSigns,UL48:a)Type1neonsupplies;b)Types5and6neonsupplieswhencomplyingwithExceptionNo.3to20.1;c)Types6,7,and8neonsupplieswhencomplyingwiththeExceptionto11.4.1ortheExceptionto11.4.3;d)AlltypesofneonsupplieshavinganisolatedoutputwhencomplyingwithExceptionNo.2to20.1;ande)Cold-cathodesupplieswhencomplyingwithExceptionNo.5to20.1.1.3Theserequirementsdonotcovertransformersorpowersuppliesintendedtosupplyotherformsofelectric-dischargelightingsourcessuchasfluorescentandhigh-intensity-dischargelighting.RequirementsforfluorescentsupplysourcesarecoveredintheStandardforFluorescent-LampBallasts,UL935,andtherequirementsforhigh-intensity-dischargelightingsupplysourcesarecoveredintheStandardforHigh-Intensity-DischargeLampBallasts,UL1029.1.4Theserequirementsdonotcovertransformersorpowersuppliesthatareintendedforusewithoilburners.TherequirementsforoilignitiontransformersarecoveredintheStandardforSpecialtyTransformers,UL506,andforoilignitionpowersuppliesarecoveredintheStandardforPowerUnitsOtherThanClass2,UL1012.
