【摘要】:ItshouldberealizedthatthedesignofanIGunitedgesealforuseinSSGsystemsisacollaborativeeffortofatleasttheIGunitfabricator,sealantmanufacturer,anddesignprofessional,amongothers.ThisguideprovidesinformationonsiliconesealantsthatareusedforthesecondarysealofIGunitsthatareglazedintoSSGsystems.InformationisalsoprovidedontheothermajorcomponentsoftheIGunitedgeseal,compatibilityofcomponents,durability,andqualityassurance(QA).1.1Thisguidecoversdesignandfabricationconsiderationsfortheedgesealofconventionallysealedinsulatingglassunits,hereinreferredtoasIGunits.TheIGunitsdescribedareusedinstructuralsiliconesealantglazingsystems,hereinreferredtoasSSGsystems.SSGsystemstypicallyareeithertwoorfoursided,glazedwithastructuralsealant.Otherconditionssuchasone,three,five,sixsidedmaybeused.1.2ThisguidesdoesnotcovertheIGunitsofotherthanconventionaledgesealdesign(Fig.1);however,theinformationcontainedhereinmaybeofbenefittothedesignersofsuchIGunits.1.3InanSSGsystem,IGunitsareretainedtoametalframingsystembyastructuralseal(Fig.2).Thesizeandshapeofthatseal,aswellasnumerousotherSSGsystemdesignconsiderations,arenotaddressedinthisguide.1.4ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thevaluesgiveninparenthesesareforinformationonly.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyproblems,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.1.5Thecommitteewithjurisdictionforthisstandardisnotawareofanycomparablestandardguidespublishedbyotherorganizations.1.6Thistestmethoddeterminesthethoroughnessofmixingofamulti-componentsealant.1.7Thistestmethoddetermineswhethertherateofcureofamixedsealantsampleiswithinthesealantmanufacturer'swrittenspecifications.1.8Thistestmethoddetermineswhetherthereisadequateadhesionofasealanttothesurfaceofaspacer.
